Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held telephone conversation with with U.S. counterpart Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday, says Department of Information and Foreign Ministry of Russia. Both discussed the possibility of holding a private meeting soon.
“The heads of the foreign affairs of their respective countries exchanged views on the issue of Syrian settlement and also agreed to work out a UN Security Council response to the provocative actions of North Korea, which conducted nuclear tests”, added U.S. State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland.
It may be mentioned that John Kerry tried unsuccessfully to talk with his Russian counterpart on Tuesday. The reason for this was the nuclear tests conducted by North Korea on February 12. Doctrine was the third in the recent history of North Korea test provoked a strong reaction from the international community. For Pyongyang may be subject to severe penalties. Subsequently, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich denied reports that U.S. Secretary of State was not able to get through to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
