KPK government seeks delay in LB polls

PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been asked to delay the local bodies elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till the last week of March media reported on Wednesday.

According to reports, local bodies elections are scheduled to be held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 28. However, the provincial government on Wednesday requested the ECP to delay the polls till the last week of March.

On Monday, the ECP formally cancelled election schedule for the local government elections in Punjab and Sindh, announcing that new schedules for local bodies polls in the two provinces will be issued after completion of amendment in laws‚ rules and delimitation process.
