PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Thursday passed the Local Government Bill 2013 as well as the Right to Information Bill 2013.

Earlier, the report of the Select Committee about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Bill 2013 was presented in the House by Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan.

While the report of the Select Committee about the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information Bill 2013 was presented in the House by Provincial Minister for Information Shah Farman.

Farman said the people can make the government accountable on daily basis. The people are equal partners in the system and they are empowered to make their representatives accountable‚ he said.

The provincial minister for information said that Right to Information Bill also aims to eliminate corruption and ensure transparency. He said transparency in the province will ultimately boost foreign investment.
