ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that Kashmir was an unfinished agenda of the United Nations as well as partition of the Sub-Continent.

In a meeting with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Masood Khan at the PM House in Islamabad on Monday, the prime minister reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to support the just cause of the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir politically, diplomatically and ethically at every forum.

“Pakistan remains committed to peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue through negotiations and dialogue,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister reiterated his condemnation of the Indian state oppression against the innocent and defenseless people in the IOK.

The struggle of the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir for their right to self-determination had been reinforced by every passing generation with new zeal and spirit, he observed.

Nawaz Sharif appreciated the role of Masood Khan in highlighting the Kashmir cause during his various diplomatic assignments particularly during his tenure as Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations.

Masood Khan thanked the prime minister for nominating him as PML-N’s candidate for the office of AJK President.

Expressing his gratitude, Masood Khan said that he would work for the well-being and betterment of the people of AJK and would help in highlighting the just freedom cause of the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
