KARACHI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that the Karachi operation will continue till its logical conclusion, and remain across the board and indiscriminate.

In his remarks during his visit to Corps Headquarter Karachi on Wednesday where he was briefed by Corps Commander and Director General Rangers on operation preparedness, operations and latest law and order situation in the city, the COAS said that the Karachi operation has brought relief in terms of target killing and extortion.

The army chief said that peace in Karachi is a priority to revive economic vibrancy and well-being of people while the army will continue to work with the people and government to finish all mafias in the city.

The COAS further said that more recent pattern of killings in Karachi indicates a design which needs to be checked. He directed the intelligence agencies and rangers to trace out, apprehend and expose the perpetrators.

In addition, the army chief commended law enforcement agencies, especially rangers for holding NA-246 by-elections smoothly in peaceful environment.
