KARACHI: The paramilitary forces conducted a targeted operation in Karachi’s Gulshan-i-Buner area on Wednesday and killed three militants allegedly associated with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

On Ranges person was also killed and another injured during the shootout with militants, the spokesman for Rangers said.

The spokesman said that the militants were planning to carry out attacks during Muharram-ul-Haram. When the Rangers team arrived in the area to conduct a targeted operation, the militants opened fire.

The Rangers spokesman further said that three militants were killed in retaliatory fire by the security forces while on Rangers person was also killed and another injured during the clash.

A huge quantity of weapons including hand grenades were also recovered from the killed militants, the spokesman added.
