ISLAMABAD: Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali took oath as the acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan on Thursday.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani administered the oath to him.
Earlier, Justice Nasirul Mulk resigned as the acting CEC after announcement of his appointment as the next Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Justice Nasirul Mulk will take oath as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan on Saturday, replacing Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani who will retire on Friday after a seven-month term as the country’s top judge.
