John Kerry expected to visit Pakistan early next year: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The US Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to visit Pakistan in the beginning of next year, the prime minister’s adviser on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz told Vice of America.

The adviser said that the strategic and economic relations between the United States and Pakistan are advancing towards betterment.

In a telephonic conversation held with the US President Barack Obama on November 22, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also expressed satisfaction at the direction of Pakistan-US relations which are on an upward trajectory while president Obama noted that Pakistan-US ties are strong and robust.

The US president also assured the prime minister that he would undertake a visit to Pakistan at an early date, as soon as the situation normalizes in the country.

The two leaders agreed to stay engaged to further strengthen Pakistan-US relations in their common desire to promote peace and prosperity in South Asia.

New phase of Pak-Afghan ties has begun: Sartaj Aziz

The advisor further said that a new phase of relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan has started.

Sartaj Aziz also termed the recent visit of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai very successful and useful beyond expectations.

The prime minister’s said that that both the countries have agreed of a mechanism to address issue of security on the border.
