Javed Hashmi likely to join PML-N?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The estranged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Javed Hashmi has been asked to contest by-elections from NA-149 Multan constituency on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ticket, the media reports said on Saturday.

The reports said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who also heads the PML-N, has offered his party ticket to Javed Hashmi to contest by-elections from Multan. On this, Hashmi has reportedly sought some time to consult the matter with his friends.

Hashmi resigned from his National Assembly seat on Tuesday, a couple of days after he distanced himself from the protest sit-ins organised by the PTI and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek in Islamabad when the two parties decided to mount a march on the official residence of the prime minister.
