ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday reprimanded IG Islamabad Bani Amin for police failure to arrest Pervez Musharraf after cancellation of his interim bail.
“Why wasn’t Musharraf arrested from the courtroom?” Justice Shaukat Siddiqi asked the IG.
The court said that 10 police officers are tasked with the arrest of a common man, but for important cases, no officer was designated.
“You are not eligible for this post. Why shouldn’t you be suspended,” Justice Siddiqi remarked.
The IG replied that he was in the Supreme Court at a meeting of the Judicial Council.
