Iranian parliament approves Tehran-Islamabad security cooperation act

TEHRAN: The Iranian Parliament has approved the Tehran-Islamabad enhanced security cooperation act, aiming to strengthen cooperation between the two countries for joint campaign against terrorist groups operating in border areas.

The bill had earlier been adopted by the Iranian cabinet and submitted to the parliament on March 31 last year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Navy ships have arrived at the southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas for a naval manoeuvre with Iranian Navy starting from April 8, 2014.

The Iranian security forces handed over 12 Pakistani nationals to Pakistani forces at Taftan point on Pakistan-Iran border. The Levies force said that these Pakistani workers were arrested in Iran for living there without valid travel documents.

These deportees would be handed over to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for further interrogation.
