IranIran says excessive demands by other side could thwart nuclear deal

TEHRAN: Iran has said that the excessive demands by the world six powers could thwart a deal over its nuclear energy program.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to reach a solution and has offered logical proposals in this regard but the excessive demands by the other side could thwart the deal and in that case the world would come to know (who made) the negotiations reach an impasse,” the Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif said in a meeting with the Cuban deputy foreign minister Marcelino Medina Gonzalez in Tehran.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany will meet again in Vienna on July 2 for talks which are aimed at drafting a comprehensive deal to resolve the decade-long standoff over Tehran’s nuclear energy program.
