ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed has urged the media to do balanced reporting and discourage rumors to deal with the challenges being faced by the country.

In his address at a workshop on countering terrorism and media engagement at police academy in Islamabad on Friday, the minister also urged the need for greater coordination between media and state institutions to confront the menace of terrorism.

The information minister asked the media persons to utilities modern communication tools in sending information to the masses.

Pervaiz Rasheed also lauded the sacrifices rendered by the police personnel in the war on terror.

“Pakistan is more secured and peaceful today due to the sacrifices of the security personnel which would be remembered for a long,” the minister said.
