Monitoring News: “Indian soldiers sexually abuse Kashmiris”, says Report “Imprisoned Resistance” which would be released tomorrow at Press Club of India New Delhi.

A group of lawyers, trade union and human rights activists and psychiatrists will release All India Fact Finding Report (FFR) titled “Imprisoned Resistance” tomorrow October 31, 2019 at Press Club of India New Delhi.

The Report is work of a team of 11 senior lawyers, trade union and human rights activists and a psychiatrist who visited Kashmir from 28 September to October 4, 201.

Team documented the state of life in Indian Occupied Kashmir under curfew and communication blackout.

The press conference will be addressed by Dr Amit Sengupta (Psychiatrist), Adv Veena Gowda (PUCL) and Gautam Mody [General Secretary, New Trade Union Initiative].

In Pre-Press conference, Note, writers of FFR indicate that Indian Army is fighting a war against its own people and society and actions conducted by Indian Army cannot be call “Security Action” rather action against Indian society.

Note says:

“They do not look at us as human beings with rights or feelings. This is what we have to now fight against. It’s a fight for Azaadi (Freedom) and the right to live as human beings.

There was a maze of road blocks which took us nearly an hour-and-half when it should have at best taken us half an hour. On my return three hours later, believing that I by now knew the maze and would be home in an hour-and-a-half, I found that the route had been reset….”

 “Love begets love, and hate begets hate. Every night there are crackdowns and raids taking place in the name of search operations, where drunk Jawans (Indian army soldiers) humiliate and torture the people and sexual crimes are rampant as well but not spoken off because of social stigma.”

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
