Indian Army pitching in politics

Islamabad, Pakistan: “Though Indian Army always rules Indian Foreign Affairs covertly but now involvement of Indian Army in Indian politics is quite perceivable and categorical.

So-called biggest democracy in the world has always been steering by Army generals with a civil face but now this civil face is diminishing and control of Indian army on politics is becoming obvious”.

Khabar Kay Sath Sath: Politics of putting allegations must be discouraged by media

These were observations of analysts during a penal discussion in a popular PTV Current Affairs show “Khabar Kay Sath Sath” that was hosted and anchored by Naheed Ch on Wednesday.

Participant of the show included senior journalists Tariq Mehmood Chaudhary, Rana Qaisar and Agha Iqrar Haroon were of the view that threats raised against Pakistan Cricket Team through Ex-servicemen of Indian Army were part of a campaign of spreading hate against Pakistan in India.

They believed that the statement of Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh in which he said that ex-servicemen and the protesting families of the Indian deceased servicemen will not be stopped from attending the match was a calculated threat imposed by Indian Army through Ex-servicemen Association over Pakistan Cricket Team.

It may be mentioned that former servicemen of India and the families of Indian deceased servicemen on Tuesday came out to protest against participation of Pakistan team in T20 World Cup that is being held in India.

Participant of the show observed that recent surfacing of Ex-servicemen Association in Indian politics and bowing down of political carde against ex-servicemen testified that Indian Army is now overtly steering Indo-Pak relations—the phenomenon that had been a part of Indian politics covertly in past.

A well-balanced discussion conducted by host of the show Naheed Ch indicated that blunt involvement of Indian Army in political affairs of India is harmful for Indo-Pak relations because hostile Indian political leadership is now openly backed by Indian Army against Pakistan and all attempts of Pakistan for harmonious relationships could go to the drain.

Participants observed that the world should watch changing political scenario of Indian politics and accept that there are strong groups within Indian political structures who do not wish normalization of Indo-Pak relations despite of constant efforts being made by Pakistan for a peaceful region.
