KPK/SINDH: Sessions of newly-elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh assemblies have been convened today while Punjab Assembly will meet on Saturday.

Newly elected Members will take oath followed by election of Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Houses.

The inaugural session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Assembly is also being held in Peshawar today.

Outgoing Speaker Karamatullah Khan will administer oath to the MPAs elect.

Being the majority party in the provincial assembly‚ Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Pervez Khattak as leader of the house.

In Sindh‚ the opening session of the Sindh Assembly is also being held in Karachi today.

On the inaugural day‚ the newly elected members of the House will take oath.

Outgoing Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khoro will administer the oath.

Our Karachi correspondent Ibrahim Kawan reports that the House has a total strength of one hundred and sixty eight.

Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians‚ has again nominated Syed Qaim Ali Shah as leader of the house.

The party has nominated Aga Siraj Durrani as Speaker and Syeda Shehla Raza as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
