PakistanImran vows to make KPK welfare province

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan on Friday inaugurated a project for street children called ‘Zamung Kor’ (Our Home) wherein they will be provided health, education and accommodation facilities saying he would make the KPK a welfare province.

The Zamung Kor will initially accommodate 1,000 street children. The inauguration of the project marked the International Street Children Day.

Addressing the participants at the inauguration ceremony, the PTI Chief praised his former wife, Reham Khan, for the idea of constructing Zamung Kor to support street children.

“The idea for ‘Zamung Kor’ was first presented by Reham Khan, and I give her all my gratitude for the support she gave to this project.”

Reham Khan was the first person who spoke for these children and today KPK government has turned it into reality, Khan thanked Reham.

Zamung Kor will take 1000 children in 1st phase, this model will be followed across the province, he said adding, “lt will become a model institute for kids that will be replicated across districts.”

Without naming the PML-N government, he said that he will not make roads for the people, but will make you a nation.

“We will make leaders out of these street children, our future policemen, doctors will be from here,” he added.

Children will receive lodging, food, education and rehabilitation at the institute. The rehabilitation centre can facilitate over 1,000 children up to the age of 12 years.

The PTI Chairman said that even animal rights are cared for in the West but in Pakistan, street children were forced into lives afflicted by drug addiction.
