LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would launch a protest if rigging issue was no addressed in three days, the party’s chairman Imran Khan warned on Wednesday.

In a written message read out by PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry at a press conference in Lahore, Khan said PTI believes in democracy and that his party wants to move forward for the sake of Pakistan.

“Pakistan is facing many challenges, including terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I have spoken to General Kayani in this regards,” Khan said.

“We have gotten an opportunity to improve Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on our model and we are interested in moving forward. However, rigging is a huge problem that needs to be addressed.”

“We demand that ECP investigate rigging allegations in 25 constituencies.

“We will move an application to the ECP to ask for vote re-count on four seats on the basis of finger prints verification. It was responsibility of the commission to ensure free and fair elections,” the PTI chairman said.

The PTI chairman said that his party would play the role of a genuine opposition in the National Assembly.
