EuropeImran hold UK govt responsible for Zahra Shahid’s killing

LONDON: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has held British government responsible for killing of Zahra Shahid and party workers on May 12, 2007, claiming he had provided proof of involvement of a political party in Karachi killings to Scotland but no one contacted him in this regard.

He had raised voice before Zahra Shahid’s murder that soil of Britain was used for incitement of violence but no action was taken, Imran told media after an Iftar dinner in London.

Imran said that he will not sit idle until the killers of PTI leader Zahra Shahid are not arrested and asked British government to stop its citizens from fanning violence in Pakistan.

The PTI chairman said that he had already informed the British ambassador that the British citizens are fanning violence in Karachi but the British government failed to stop provocative speeches aired from England.

Imran said that he had provided proof of involvement of a political party in Karachi killings to Scotland but no one contacted him in this regard.

Moreover, he alleged that May 11 elections were the most rigged in the entire history of Pakistan. He demanded re-election in four constituencies.

On the other hand, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi strongly criticized Imran’s statement and said that the PTI leader was trying to protect his declining reputation and popularity among the people by leveling allegations against MQM.

The MQM leader blamed that PTI failed to fulfil their promise regarding drone attacks and alleged that the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is patronizing Taliban and other militant groups.
