ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday reiterated his resolve to hold a massive public gathering in Islamabad on Friday 2, and said that they wouldn’t back from the demand of Nawaz Sharif’s accountability.

While talking to media representatives in Islamabad on Friday, he said that they had been put under house arrest without any prior notice. However, he said that even 30,000 police personnel would not be able to stop the PTI leadership from joining the protest on November 2.

“Why I was kept under house arrest?,” Imran questioned and said that the government didn’t comply with the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) order and not only arrested PTI workers but also placed Containers.

Imran Khan said that he was restricted to attend Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed’s public gathering.

“Democratic governments protect Human fundamental rights. Fair and transparent elections are mandatory for democracy,” the PTI Chief said.

The PTI Chief further said that the government could not stop the tsunami of masses, adding that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) corrupt elements were afraid of accountability.

“Nawaz Sharif is a coward man. He cannot escape accountability,” Imran Khan said.

In reply to a question, Imran Khan said that he would surely go to the Supreme Court on November 1 for hearing of Panama Papers Case but the decision about the IHC’s hearing on October 31 would be made in consultation with lawyers.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Police also took the famous singer Salman Ahmed into custody when he reached Bani Gal. but later he was released on directions of IG Islamabad.

Earlier addressing a press conference in Lahore, the Punjab government spokesman Zaeem Qadri said that the state was bound to protect the rights of citizens.

“We will ensure writ of the government at all cost,” he said.

Zaeem Qadri said that the PTI failed to gather supporters for protest.
