Imran demands LB polls under judiciary supervision

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that the local bodies elections should be held under the supervision of the judiciary.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Saturday, the PTI chairman reiterated his demand to verify thumb impressions in four constituencies of Punjab.

The PTI chairman said the government admitted that there were 60-70 unverified votes in each constituency. He said that he will approach the Supreme Court on Monday for fingerprint verification in the four constituencies.

Imran Khan said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is introducing bio-metric system for local government elections in the province.

Meanwhile, the PTI chairman also announced to hold countrywide protest against price-hike on the December 22, saying that the government’s honeymoon period has ended and now it is opposition’s duty to hold it accountable for its policies.
