CARACAS: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s health seems to be deteriorating as the leader’s respiratory problems have worsened and his health is in a very delicate condition, Information Minister Ernesto Villegas said on late Monday.
The 58-year-old Chavez has developed a new severe respiratory infection and is receiving chemotherapy that has had a strong impact, Villegas said.
“There has been a worsening in his respiratory infection in relation to the state of his immunosuppression,” he said.
