MUNICH, Germany: In order to attend the Central & South Asia Security Conference being held in Germany, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday arrived in Munich on a day-long official visit.
In a twitter message, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa told that the COAS will address participants of the Central & South Asia Security Conference.

The COAS’s visit comes as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the 70th United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral issues including trade, energy, health, education, agriculture and automobile industry.
On the occasion, the prime minister urged the German investors to invest in the development of Thar coal, particularly through use of German technology and technical expertise.
The German Chancellor appreciated the significant progress made by Pakistan in its efforts to counter terrorism. She also acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution in bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.
