President Asif Ali Zardari says despite all odds‚ general election will held on May 11.

In a statement‚ he directed law enforcement agencies to take strict measures for the protection of lives and properties of the people as well as candidates to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.

President Zardari strongly condemned the acts of violence against the candidates and their election offices in different parts of the country.

President Zardari expressed concern over the attack on the convoy of Sardar Sarfraz Domki and Dostain Domki in Sibi. He also condemned the attacks on the election offices of candidates in Machh‚ Kharan and Takht Bhai.
