Peshawar, Pakistan: Despite spending 141 billion 48 crore rupees on the organization of prevention and recovery from natural disasters during the last five years of power of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the sensitive districts of the province could not be made safe.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Muhammad Qaiser Khan has expressed serious reservations about the billions of rupees of the relief fund in the deputy commissioner’s account.
Moreover, objections have also been raised in the Auditor General of Pakistan’s report on large-scale financial corruption in spending huge amounts of money. According to the documents of the Finance Department, during the year 2018-19, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Department spent 5 billion 21 crore 70 lakh rupees.
