ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In line with Lahore Expo Center, the federal government is all set to establish a modern Expo Center Peshawar to facilitate the business community exhibit their products in order to promote trade and investment for the prosperity of the country.

The Expo center would be completed by May 2017 with the cumulative cost of Rs 5 billion, official sources said adding the center would be equipped with all latest facilities for trade promotion.

Currently, land has been surveyed and two sites are under consideration, one near Peshawar motorway interchange and another on Nowshera Road for setting up the center.

After the proper screening of both the sites and taking into account all the aspects of business promotion, one of these cites would be selected for establishment of a modern expo center.

The sources said that this would be a successful exhibition center as Peshawar is at crossroads and an access route to Afghanistan and Central Asian countries.

“The center will help in enhancing trade with Afghanistan and Central Asian Countries,” the sources said.

The sources were of the view that the expo center would not only promote business activities but would create job opportunities in the province.

The sources said that Lahore Expo center has been one of the model expo centers which has promoted trade activities and same would be replicated in other cities of the country gradually.

The establishment of expo centers in Quetta and Faisalabad are also on cards to facilitate trade and investment activities all across the country.
