Federal cabinet approves budget proposals for 2014-15

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the federal cabinet was held in Islamabad on Tuesday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair, during which it passed budget proposals for the next financial year 2014-15.

The federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar will present the federal budget with an outlay of about Rs3.8 trillion for the next fiscal year in the National Assembly later in the day.

The sources said that the budget would focus on reviving economy, overcoming energy crisis, promoting education and tackling extremism.

The new budget also envisages measures to develop human and social capital, achieve sustainable growth, improve governance, institutional reforms, modernization of public and private sector led growth and entrepreneurship.
