Chairman National Accountability Bureau Fasih Bukhari has underlined the need for improving system to achieve good governance.

Speaking in a TV programme‚ he said there should be a regulatory mechanism within institutions to eradicate corruption.

To a question‚ he said NAB has presented names of defaulter candidates to the Election Commission including some important names.

Fasih Bukhari said now it is upto the Election Commission to take decision regarding these candidates.

He said some of the candidates are also lodging appeals in their cases.

To a question‚ the NAB Chairman said NAB’s jurisdiction is restricted to cases‚ in which convictions have taken place.

He said NAB would continue scrutiny of candidates even after the elections to see whether or not they have made a wrong statement.
