KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that failure in the war against terrorism is not the option and we have to eliminate the scourge of terrorism.

Sharif made these remarks in his address at a meeting of the Sindh apex committee held on Monday at the Governor House in Karachi to review implementation of national action plan (NAP) to weed out terrorism from the country.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Corps Commander Karachi Lt General Naveed Mukhtar, Director General Rangers Bilal Akber, security agencies officials, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, former president Asif Ali Zardari and members of the provincial cabinet.

In his address, the prime minister said that we have to win the war against terrorism at all costs to secure the country and future of the coming generations.

The prime minister said that the anti-terror national action plan has not been prepared by just a single party but had endorsement of all the political parties of the country.

Nawaz Sharif said that 2 points out of 20-point agenda has been implemented immediately in the shape of passage of 21st constitutional amendment and amendment in army act for setting up special trial courts.

The premier said that meetings of the apex committees, which have been formed in the provinces for implementation of the NAP, are held regular to review progress in this regard and taking decisions which are being implemented.

The prime minister said that people are looking forward for tangible results of the national action plan. He said that problems and impediments in the way of the NAP implementation were clearly expressed in the meeting and they find their solutions.
