ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that F-16s are playing a crucial role in eliminating terrorists in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s program, he said this advanced aircraft had struck the hideouts and safe refuges of terrorists in an effective manner.
He observed “India has unduly started a campaign against the delivery of F-16s to Pakistan.”
However, the US had rejected the propaganda of Indian lobby against this deal, he added.
These planes will be delivered to Pakistan within a year and increase the strength of Pakistan Air Force.
Pakistan, he said, had been fighting a successful war against terrorism and the backbone of terrorists had been broken.
US itself had acknowledged the successes of Pakistan in this war, he said adding, United States was well aware of the fact that if the menace of terrorism had to be eradicated, it would need to help Pakistan.
