Ex-PM Ashraf gets permanent exemption from court appearance

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday granted former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf permanent exemption from appearance before it in the rental power case and adjourned the hearing till March 7.

The accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir resumed the hearing and the counsel of the former premier Farooq H. Naek told him that due to security concerns, his client could not appear before the court and requested that he be granted permanent exemption from appearance.

Subsequently, the court accepted the request and adjourned hearing of the case till March 7.
