KARACHI: Some unidentified gunmen shot dead a candidate of the Awami National Party (ANP) along with his six-year old son in Karachi’s Bilal colony area in Korangi on Friday, causing the postponement of election in the city’s NA-254 constituency.

The candidate, Sadiq Zaman Khattak, was contesting elections from Karachi’s NA-254 constituency and was shot to death by unknown gunmen near a mosque.

Moreover four other persons, including two children were also injured in the attack.

The son of Sadiq Khattak, who was also injured in the attack, succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile‚ elections were postponed in NA-254 due to killing of ANP candidate. New schedule of the elections will be announced later on.

In another incident a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was killed and two other persons were injured in a gunfiring incident in Paposh area of Karachi.
