ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission in its report informed the Supreme Court that it would be difficult to give the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis in Election 2013.

The Commission said that voters need to register themselves in concerned High Commissions before casting votes and this process has to take time.

It is also mandatory to get permission from host countries for polling. The commission would also require adequate time for ensuring logistics for the polling staff in the host countries.

The Commission has told the apex court in its report that 2.9 million Pakistanis reside in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. It said that one million Pakistanis do not have machine readable passports so far.
