Dr Tahirul Qadri’s PAT observes ‘martyrs day’

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) is observing the Youm-i-Shuhada (martyrs day) on Sunday to pay tribute to the martyrs of Model town Lahore in June and beginning of ‘Green Revolution’.

The day follows deadly clashes that took between the PTA activists and the police across Punjab on Saturday.

The PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri has asked his supporters to observe the ‘martyrs day’ and hold sit-ins in their own districts in case they fail to reach Lahore because of restrictions put in place by the government.

The sources said that the decision by the provincial government to remove containers from some roads in Lahore and elsewhere has given hope to the PAT that a good number of its workers may make it to Model Town Lahore on Sunday.

The sources in the PAT said that Dr Tahirul Qadri is likely to give a call for revolution march to his supporters on Sunday and the main procession might set off from Model Town Lahore on Monday.
