Death toll in Nepal earthquake rises to 3,218

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The death toll from Saturday’s 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal has risen to 3,218 while more than 6,500 persons have also been injured.

Meanwhile, the search and rescue operations in Nepal are under way to look for the survivors of massive earthquake.

The earthquake caused massive devastation as many buildings were collapsed and communication system was destroyed.

The foreign countries including Pakistan have begun sending disaster relief to Nepal.

Two more Pakistani C-130 aircraft to carry supplies to Nepal today

Under the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, two more C-130 aircraft loaded with relief goods will be dispatched to Kathmandu on Monday for the earthquake affected people of Nepal.

On Sunday, two Pakistani C-130 Aircraft carrying relief goods for earthquake victims landed in Kathmandu.

The relief assistance included medical team of doctors and paramedics, a 30-bed Hospital, medicines, tents, water, dry food, and a search and rescue team.

Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called his Nepalese counterpart Sushil Koirala and extended all possible assistance for the quake-hit people of Nepal.

The prime minister expressed heart-felt condolences and sympathies with the quake victims and inquired about the nature of relief assistance that Nepal needed on priority.
