ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Friday said China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a project to practically implement vision of leadership of two brotherly countries.

Talking to a high-level Chinese delegation led by Vice Governor Shandong province Xia Geng who called on him, Ahsan said the CPEC would equally benefit both China and Pakistan.

He observed that the Chinese investment in Pakistan had open avenues of foreign investment in the country.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the CPEC would integrate the entire region adding, it would provide the shortest and economical passage for the trade and business activities.

The Minister informed the delegation that Pakistan wanted to seek cooperation of Shandong province in technology being used in the agriculture sector.

He said an institute was being set up in Planning Commission for the promotion of rural economy and local employment opportunities.

He said both the countries could initiate plans for joint production.
