ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday lauding the economic policies of the government said the country would experience an economic turnaround with the completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and energy projects.

Talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) headed by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, President Mamnoon Hussain lauded economic achievements of the government and expressed satisfaction that the country was moving in right direction.

The President said the achievements on the economic front had been acknowledged by international financial institutions and Pakistan had also been categorized in the emerging markets.

The President said the government, which was considered a business friendly government, was committed to facilitating the business community and providing conducive business environment to boost economic growth despite economic constraints and inadequacy of resources.

The President advised the Chamber that it should give awards to only those deserving businessmen who render tangible services benefiting the country.

He urged upon the office bearers of the Chamber to resolve the problems of other members and proactively strive to uphold their rights.

The President called upon business community to pay their due taxes so that the government could utilize additional income for betterment of the people.

President ICCI apprised President Mamnoon Hussain of the problems being faced by the Chamber and lauded the economic performance of the government.

He also acknowledged that the business community was being duly consulted in formulation of economic policies.
