ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said on Friday that the $46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is being constructed along the Silk Route which has expanded the Pak-China relations by providing it a solid economic foundation and dynamism.

In his address at the inauguration of “one belt one road” Photo Exhibition on Muslim Customs at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad on Friday, the minister said that Pak-China relations can now be termed as both corporate and cultural strategic partnership.

The information minister said that relations between Pakistan and China are rooted in the will of the people of both the nations and such exhibitions will bring the people of the two countries even closer.

The Embassy of peoples Republic of China, Ningxia Islamic Friendly Council for Promotion of International Economy and Culture and NUML arranged the exhibition wherein Charge D Affairs of the Chinese Embassy Zhao Lijian and Head of Ningxia Islamic Friendly Council Hei Liangji were also present.

Talking about the exhibition, the information minister said that the holding of this exhibition in Islamabad not only reflects the deep cultural ties between peoples of Pakistan and China but also a testimony of Chinese government’s policy of ethnic equality and religious freedom under which Muslims enjoy equal rights.

Rasheed said that this exhibition is a message that as we celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

“Our people are connected with strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood,” he said.

The minister also congratulated the Ningxia Islamic Friendly Council on their efforts to highlight the tolerance and harmony in the Chinese society.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that exhibitions like these help cement people to people contacts and cultural cooperation deepens existing friendly relations between both the countries.
