COVID-19 patients in Pakistan on the rise; Number reaches 22,049

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The COVID-19 patients have exponentially been growing in Pakistan as their number has now soared to 22,049 and 514 of them have lost their lives in the battle against the disease.

However, 5,801 infected persons have recuperated as well which left the number of active Cases in the Country as 15,734.

So far 222,404 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the Country including 9,857 held in the last 24 hours.

In Punjab, 8,133 people have so far been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Of them, 144 have died while 2,716 have got recovered.

The Sindh province has now surpassed Punjab as it has detected 8,189 Cases and 148 deaths. While 1,629 patients in Sindh have been recovered.

With 3,499 patients, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands as the third worst hit province; however, it has recorded the highest deaths – 194. Of these infected persons, 875 have not got recovered.

In Balochistan, 1,321 people have been tested positive so far, 21 deaths have been recovered whereas 197 patients have recovered.

The Gilgit-Baltistan region has 372 Cases, 3 deaths, and 279 recoveries while Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has 71 Cases and 49 recoveries.

In the Islamabad Capital Territory, the number of COVID-19 patients has climbed to 464. Four of the patients including a woman have passed away and 56 have now been cured from the disease.
