ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan recorded 6.61% COVID positivity ratio on December 18 as 48,075 tests were performed in the last 24 hours which found 3,179 people positive, according to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

Additionally, 87 COVID-19 patients lost their lives in the last 24 hours; therefore, now the number of fatalities claimed by Coronavirus has mounted to 9,250.

To date, 454,673 people have been infected by Coronavirus across Pakistan; however, 404,501 of them have now recovered.

At present, 40,922 COVID patients are under treatment across Pakistan while 2,486 of them are in critical condition and their number is rising fast.

On December 18, the highest positivity ratio was observed in Karachi 11.80%, followed by Peshawar 9.23% and Mirpur 7.92%.

The positivity ratio in various federating units is as:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 7.47%, Balochistan is 3.56%, Gilgit-Baltistan 1.07%, Islamabad 3.57%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 8.19%, Punjab 3.86%, and Sindh 9.20%

  • 58% of hospitalized patients remained on the ventilator
