COVID-19 death toll rises to 7,696 in Pakistan with 34 more fatalities

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The death toll caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has surged to 7,696 across Pakistan after 34 more deaths surfaced in the last 24 hours, reflecting the danger looming around the Country with the arrival of the second wave of Coronavirus.

Even on November 21, 59 patients suffering from the disease had passed way, recording the highest number of faculties in the Country since mid-July.

On November 22, 13 deaths were registered each in Punjab and Sindh, 4 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 2 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 1 each in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The highest number of deaths have so far been recorded in Punjab wherein 2,861 COVID-19 patients have passed away.

In Sindh, 2,829 patients have died; in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,327; in ICT 279; in Balochistan 161; in AJK 144; and in Gilgit-Baltistan 95.

The National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) data says that 36,929 tests were conducted on November 22 throughout the Country, which found 2,756 people positive with a ratio of 7.4%

To date, a total of 376,929 people have contracted the virus across the Country since February 26 when the first Case emerged.

In the last 24 hours, 26 COVID-19 patients died in the hospital while 8 passed away elsewhere.

Currently, 2,155 patients are admitted in 763 hospitals with COVID facilities across the Country. In addition, out of 38,348 Active Coronavirus Cases, 1,677 are Critical.

So far 330,885 patients have recovered from the disease in the Country.
