COVID-19 Cases in Pakistan touch 15,759; 346 deaths

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to strike Pakistan hard and with the exponential increase of local transmission of the virus, the infected patients have now reached 15,759, according to the data of the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC).

The death ratio is also gradually climbing which has now been recorded 2.2% with 346 patients having lost their lives.

However, 4,052 COVID-19 patients have also got recovered with a ratio of 25.7%.

The NCOC data has stated that up till April 30, 174,160 tests have been conducted across the Country to diagnose the infection.

The most number of Coronavirus Cases has occurred in Punjab wherein 6,061 people have been infected while 103 of them have died and 1,780 have been cured.

The Sindh province with 5,695 Cases, 100 deaths, and 1,169 recoveries remains the second worst-hit region.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has recorded 2,313 Cases, 122 deaths, and 614 recoveries; while Balochistan has 978 patients, 14 deaths, and 180 recoveries.

Furthermore, Gilgit-Baltistan has 333 COVID-19 patients so far, 3 of them have died and 228 have recovered.

The Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) hasn’t yet witnessed any death but 66 people in the region have so far been affected and 37 have recovered.

Whereas in Islamabad, 313 people have been infected, 4 have died and 44 have recuperated.
