Corps Commanders meet today

RAWALPINDI: The Corps Commanders’ Conference is underway at the Army General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday to discuss the country’s internal security issues as well as professional matters relating to the military.

The meeting is being held under the chairmanship of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, while according to the Inter Services Public Services (ISPR), the conference is part of routine monthly meetings.

The conference comes two days after the army chief caused a stir with his remarks at a Special Service Group (SSG) base in Tarbela.

“While our country is faced with multiple internal and external challenges, Pakistan Army upholds the sanctity of all institutions and will resolutely preserve its own dignity and institutional pride,” the COAS said on Monday while talking to SSG officers and soldiers during his visit to the Headquarters of SSG at Ghazi Base, Tarbela.
