ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: National Action Committee for Implementation met in Islamabad on Friday to discuss timeframe for achieving aims of National Action Plan (NAP).

The meeting, chaired by National Security Adviser Lt General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua at Prime Minister Office, was attended by Attorney General, Chairman PEMRA, Director General National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Chief Secretaries of four provinces, Home Secretaries, Additional Secretary FATA, Inspector General FATA, Director General Intelligence Bureau, Secretaries of Law, Religious Affairs and Information.

At the start of the meeting, the National Security Adviser informed the participants about the current affairs, particularly about the recent tension in Pakistan India relations.

He appreciated the untiring efforts of law enforcement agencies during Muharram ul Haram and congratulated the institutions and Pakistani people for keeping law and order.

He later highlighted in detail the 20 point National Action Plan and also reviewed steps taken so far for implementing them in future.

He also informed about the steps and decisions taken at the level of prime minister and chief ministers for implementation on National Action Plan.

The aim of the meeting was to form a strategy to implement the decisions taken during meetings held under supervision of the prime minister.

The National Security Adviser also talked about a timeframe for implementation of National Action Plan and about the steps taken so far in that direction.

He emphasised on the institutions to keep in view the timelines for implementation of National Action Plan.

Regarding the law and order situation, Lt General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua told the participants that law and order was a provincial subject and all provincial governments and institutions needed to formulate a coordinated strategy so that all goals of National Action Plan could be achieved in a given timeframe.

To ensure success of National Action Plan, National Security Adviser would also undertake visit of all provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
