ISLAMABAD: A Judicial Commission has been formed to probe the tragedy involving Bhoja Air that killed 127 passengers last year.

The commission will file its reports within three months. It should be mentioned here that Islamabad High Court took notice of the delays in investigation of the Bhoja aircraft crash, that took place on April 20 last year killing all passengers on board.

IHC Justice Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui ordered that the commission will work under Justice (Retd) Khalilur Rehman Ramday to investigate the cause of the accident.

Bhoja Airline has been asked to pay Rs6 million to the commission. The commission has been tasked to answer seven questions in three months’ time.

The commission will seek answer if the license issued to Bhoja Air was in accordance with law and whether the aircraft meets specific requirements, related to the aircraft’s mileage, maintenance record and airworthiness.

The commission will also look into the professional experience, health and qualifications of the cockpit crew.
