COAS urges to resolve issue of Kashmir, Palestine

KARACHI, Pakistan: The Chief or Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that it is imperative to resolve the issue of Kashmir and Palestine to ensure security in the entire region.

“Sometimes security of the whole region can be threatened by a single unresolved issue such as Palestine and Kashmir and obviously necessitating a regional approach to conflict resolution,” he said while addressing at the defence exhibition IDEAS-2014 at Karachi Expo Centre on Thursday.

The COAS said that the defence needs are being changed with the passage of time.

“Pakistani nation is very brave and we have to work for the protection of our vision,” General Raheel Sharif further said.

The army chief that terrorists are a threat of not only to Pakistan but also the whole of the world peace.

The COAS said that Pakistan is confronting many disputes for the last 35 years and increasing poverty and joblessness are big challenges.

Earlier, General Raheel Sharif visited different stalls at the defence exhibition IDEAS 2014 at Expo Centre in Karachi and also exchanged views with foreign delegates.

The four-day exhibition which began at the Karachi Expo Centre on December 1, will conclude today.

As many as 88 delegations from 47 countries are taking part in the exhibition.
