ISLAMABAD: The newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Tuesday morning.

The two sides discussed professional matters of the armed forces with them. Moreover, security situation of the country besides issue of missing persons also came under discussion.

Meanwhile, the minister for defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif also held talks with the prime minister and discussed the issue of missing persons.

The key meetings on the issue of missing persons were held at a time when a three-member-bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is hearing the missing persons case.

During the hearing on Monday, the apex court was informed that two of the 35 missing persons had died during the detention in an internment center of Lakki Marwat, while the apex court observed that the death of person under agency’s custody was murder and ordered to produce the remaining 33 missing persons in court today (Tuesday).

The apex court also ordered arrest of internment center authorities and filing of case against them.
