ISLAMABAD: Li Keqiang will be accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival on a two-day official visit of Pakistan

It is the first visit of Chinese premier Li Keqiang to Pakistan after becoming the prime minister of China which will provide an opportunity to him to meet new Pakistani leadership and discuss ways to further strengthen deep rooted bilateral ties.

This visit will give further impetus to strategic relations between the two countries.

During his stay in Islamabad‚ the Chines Prime Minister will hold in-depth talks with President Asif Ali Zardari‚ Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso‚ PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and other elected political leaders.

It is expected that both the countries will sign several agreements and Memorandum of Understandings to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy‚ energy‚ culture and education.

Pakistani leadership will also seek more cooperation from China in the field of power and energy given the present dire power situation.

President Asif Ali Zardari will host a luncheon in honor of the Chinese premier. It will also be attended by the newly elected political leadership.

The Chinese Prime Minister will also address the Senate on Thursday.
