China to continue cooperation with Pakistan: envoy

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong has said that China will continue cooperation with Pakistan in energy, infrastructure and industrial projects.

In his address at a ceremony of Chinese National Day Reception in Islamabad, the Chinese ambassador said that Pakistan-China economic corridor is an important part of enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese envoy said that momentum of Pakistan-China relations has not changed and President Xi Jinping will visit Islamabad at the earliest.

The envoy said that China always supports Pakistan’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said that we also support Pakistan’s efforts of promoting economic and social development as well as its national security strategy.

Sun Weidong said that China appreciates Pakistan’s huge contribution to the international counter-terrorism efforts.
