ISLAMABAD: He said law and order is a provincial matter‚ and the federal government is responsible only for providing intelligence assistance to the provinces.

Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said Islamabad Police would be made a ‘Role Model’ by inducting honest and committed officials in the force.

Taking to media persons in Islamabad‚ he said law and order is a provincial matter‚ and the federal government is responsible only for providing intelligence and surveillance-related assistance to the provinces.

He said transparency would be ensured in all attached departments of the ministry including Federal Investigation Agency‚ passports and immigration department and others.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali said he will soon appoint a senior officer as spokesman of the ministry with the mandate to provide information to media.
